Following the successful launch of our first motor yacht, the 48ft Far Niente in 1997, we had a request for another yacht of similar size and concept. Motor yacht number two was based on the same hull design, but extended by one foot.
Raymond Hunt’s hull shapes were well known for their sea-kindliness at speed in seaway so this yacht, with her deep-vee configuration was ideally suited to comfortable high speed cruising.
However the superstructure, interior layout and the equipment specification were all tailor-made to suit this particular client, and in that respect this yacht was quite different to Far Niente.
Ben Nevis was fitted with twin MTU 625hp diesels which could deliver cruising speeds of up to 30 knots.
