General Information
Knowledgeable 2nd owners since 1993 of this wonderful vessel have carefully
maintained GB 42 MY #926 to keep her “original”; she is for sale as owners have
moved to a GB 52. Galley down. Power: twin Lehman-Ford SP160 hp turbos (~3,560
hrs.). Onan 8kw generator (~1,592 hrs.). Year over year over year fuel consumption
3 – 3.5 gph total. Cruise 8-9 kts.
Vessel History
First owner purchased from Hal Jones, Ft. Lauderdale; vessel was cruised 1985 –
1993 northern Gulf of Mexico; berthed near Warsaw Landing on the fresh water Blood River off Lake Maurepas, Louisianna. Fold-down mast allowed
dockage under cover. 700 hrs. on engines.
Second Owner (1993 to present) took the vessel via Tenn-Tom/Mississippi to St.
Croix River near Minneapolis/St. Paul. Cruised summers on Minnesota rivers;
vessel stored in winter on land, under cover. Owners cruised Mississippi/Tenn Tom to Florida West Coast in 2007, and vessel has been winter home
December to April since then. Stored in summers on land in hangar. The vessel
has never seen sustained southern summer sun; teak decks very good
condition
All fiberglass original. Teak transom, decks, cap rails, handrails, grab rails, four
hatches, flybridge trim. Bronze handrail stanchions. Stainless (SS) railings aft
deck, flybridge, pulpit. Aluminum mast and spreaders, with an added higher
mast step (30” above flybridge deck) so that when mast is lowered into SS
crutch, aft deck remains full headroom. Teak (except decks) finished bright
with Bristol Finish in very good condition. Aegean Light attracts attention at
docks.
Hull hand-laid fiberglass. In 1993, purchase survey revealed veil-coat blisters;
bottom was peeled, heated and dehumidified, then coated with 4 mil advanced
polyester (Duratec R
vinyl ester primer/barrier coat), then bottom paint. Never
another blister. Current bottom paint is Sea Hawk Biocop.
Foredeck – original high-shine fiberglass with 3 teak hatches (+ screens). Teak
grab rails
Aft Deck – full-width raised teak-covered aft deck (~12.5’ x 11’) with SS rails.
Original aft-deck GB deck boxes now on flybridge to open the aft deck fully.
Built-in steps to transom and swim platform.
Flybridge – Upper helm to starboard. Gorgeous teak wheel. Full controls. Plexi
windscreen. Teak deck; SS rails. Fwd- and aft-facing bench seats port and
starboard + original near-perfect cushions. GB L-settee + orig cushions + vinyl
cover added 1993 by 2nd owners. Storage under all seats. Perfect bright-finish
GB teak-grate table on SS pedestal + vinyl cover. GB deck boxes (originally
on aft deck) on port FB opposite L-settee. Great seating arrangement! SS
bimini + Sunbrella cover; new Sunbrella FB cover.
Pulpit, Windlass and Ground Tackle – Fiberglass pulpit + SS rail. Two
custom-cast silicone bronze anchor rollers for 2-anchor capability (original
pulpit allowed 1 anchor). Ideal 12 v vertical capstan windlass + free-wheeling
chain gypsy; foot and both-helm controls. Sea-water washdown spigot. Plow
and Danforth anchors; former: 150’ chain rode; latter: 25’ chain + ~100’
braided rode.
Mast – aluminum mast + spreaders + SS stays. Running + anchor lights;
Raymarine Pathfinder 4’ open-array radar scanner on SS rack; spreader lights;
VHF antenna; lightning rod. Mast folds down with gin pole and electric winch.
Lightning Protection – lightning rod insulated from mast on top of mast; 4/0
insulated copper cable through mast to bilge to custom-cast bronze through hull casting secured on hull bottom to 3’ x 2’ copper plate.
GPS antenna – Raystar 125 GPS sensor on SS railing
Courtesy Lighting – Exterior: red/white lights in custom low-profile bronze
fixtures at pulpit, side decks, steps to flybridge, flybridge.
Main Salon – starboard L-settee with GB fabric; 2 teak + GB fabric dining
chairs ( with removable leg extensions for 2 pilot chairs, when needed);
upholstered stool; bar with ice-maker; teak buffet with drawers; classic GB
salon table; small custom, fold-down TV shelf; lower helm to starboard;
gorgeous teak wheel. Port and starboard doors to side-decks; hatches to
engine room. Large sliding windows; screens for all (not installed). New
curtains 2024. 12 v Kenwood AM/FM radio + remote + Bose speakers.
Lower Helm – to starboard. Original analog gauges. Morse cable engine/tranny
controls. Teak wheel with chain + SS cable to stern rudder quadrant.
Raymarine 2-station depth display; Raymarine E-120 MFD with position, chart,
radar, 2nd depth/fish finder. Anchor windlass control. Apelco VHF. 12 and 120 v
breaker panels; battery status gauge. Custom indicator lights, sounder
alarms, ignition-switch, wiper-switch panels. Custom easy-access wiper
controls at side-door frame. Custom step with storage at starboard cabin
door
Galley – U-shaped galley down to port (allows large, open main salon). 2-
compartment SS sink. Princess 3-burner propane stovetop with oven; propane
control panel. Custom properly-vented propane-tank locker in flybridge
brow. Holding-plate 120 v SS fridge and freezer compartments (Beers Group
refrigeration, Ft. Lauderdale). White laminate countertops with teak trim,
drawers, louver-door cabinets. Microwave. Custom halogen light over
stovetop. Hatch + screen over stove for ventilation. Two sliding windows,
curtains.
Master Stateroom with Ensuite Head/Shower – full-width aft stateroom
because of the raised-aft-deck Motor Yacht design. Six sliding windows,
screens, curtains. Queen center bed. Overhead hatch + screen. Built-in teak
bureaus with ‘teak’ laminate countertops + fiddles. Custom tip-out storage
compartments to starboard added to use space above exhaust hose. Large
hanging locker with custom lighting. Polished, lacquered brass berth lamps.
Bose speakers. Immaculate enclosed head to port with teak cabinetry, white
laminate countertop, ceramic sink, sliding window, screen, curtains. Raritan
Crown macerator head (new 2024). Large mirrors. Enclosed shower to
starboard; teak grate, teak seat, sliding window, screen, curtains; towel
storage
Forward Stateroom – Large V-berth - foam mattresses with GB fabric;
upholstered “plug” fills V for full-width bunk. Vanity, mirror + upholstered
stool. Polished, lacquered brass berth lamps. Hanging locker with custom
lighting + cabinets + drawers for storage.
Forward Head/Shower – Immaculate generous head, to starboard, opposite
galley. Shower stall with teak grate. White laminate counter-top + teak trim,
ceramic sink. Raritan Crown macerator head (new 2024). Two sliding windows
with curtains + screens.
Unique 3
rd “Galley Stateroom” – entire galley space at counter-top level
becomes double-bed-size bunk room easily accessed from stairs down to
galley. Custom (creatively-stored – pictures not shown here) stylish supports
span the galley U; 4 GB-beige-painted plywood squares cover entire space
(also creatively-stored). Four 4” foam mattress cushions (upholstered with GB
fabric) + one standard fitted sheet create the bunk. GREAT, FUN SPACE for
kids or grandkids. Takes only 10 minutes to set up or take down.
Main engines: two Ford-Lehman SP160 (Lehman-Ford 2726T) small turbos; inline 6 each producing 160 hp (~3,542 hrs.). Borg Warner transmissions.
Morse cable controls. Single Racor 500 primary fuel filter per engine + two
secondary filters per engine. Custom emergency by-pass fuel filter per
engine. 3 heat exchangers per engine: lube oil, coolant and tranny oil. Wet
exhaust hoses and fiberglass in-line mufflers. All coolant hoses replaced 2007.
Propellers 27” diam, 24” pitch. Shafts 1.5” Aquamet 22; flax packing glands;
shaft-saver couplings.
◊ Fresh-water-rinse system for heat-exchangers on main engines and genset.
Batteries: House + starting = 2 8D sealed Duracell batteries (2024) in
fiberglass boxes. Genset starting battery automobile size; plastic box.
Battery Charger: Promariner “Pro-Nautic 12·50P” 3-bank smart charger (2014)
Onan 8kw MDKD genset (~1,592 hrs.). Engine room, center aft between fuel
tanks. Sound control enclosure. Racor cartridge primary and secondary fuel
filters. Water-lift muffler. Low pressure fuel pump and fuel-rail solenoid new
2024.
Fuel tanks and connections: two 300-gal soft steel rectangular tanks.
Excellent, no-rust condition – painted with white epoxy paint. Valves for on\off, genset supply, genset return and crossover.
Water tanks: 3 aluminum tanks: one in hull V under sole of forward
companionway, one each under side decks. 260 gal. capacity. Tank selector
manifold.
Holding tank: fiberglass 30 gal under genset. Macerator overboard pump (new
impeller 2025) + pump-out fitting side deck.
Groco “SV series” intake seacocks with strainers - engines; genset; A/C
pump; fridge/SW pump, head intakes. Groco discharge seacocks, head
discharges; macerator discharge.
12 gal Raritan 120 v water heater with heat-exchange coils from port main
engine.
Water pumps: Shur-flo FW; Shur-flo SW (2023)
Bilge pumps: Rule 500 gph; Rule 3700 gph with float-switch activated relay
for high 12 v current demand. “Bilge pump-on” warning lights both helms.
High bilge-water switch and alarm.
Inverter, wiring and custom battery boxes discussed below.
Fireboy fire suppression system, 750 cubic feet; new July 2024.
120 v Electrical and Heating/AC
Shore-power input + breakers - Typical 50-amp input at bow + stern; heavily
fused. Hubbell 50’ 4-lead 220-v 50-amp cord. Lower helm 120 v lighted
breaker panel + genset/shore switching.
Numerous additional 12 v + 120 v outlets added for convenience throughout
vessel + flybridge.
Generator – 8kw Onan MDKD – see machinery above.
Inverter – Installed 2007: 3000W Xantrex Freedom inverter + heavy-gauge
wiring + fuse + disconnect switch + custom battery boxes for four T-125 6 v
golf-cart batteries. Breaker-panel inverter-fed circuit breakers easily
segregated. Xantrex control panel at lower helm. Not needed in recent years;
batteries removed and system decommissioned 2017; function if re-commissioned not known. Full diagrams and instructions available.
2nd Owner Modifications
1. Mast raising and lowering electric winch + gin-pole system; mast/boom crutches
2. GB L-settee and cushions flybridge; vinyl waterproof cover. Teak pedestal table in
perfect bright finish + cover.

20. Wood/fiberglass covers for 4 teak hatches during lay-up periods. Covers nest for
storage in custom canvas zipper pouch.
21. Custom switch panels for starting or stopping engines from fly-bridge (not standard
in 1985); custom indicator-light + sounder panels and at both helm stations: for FWpump-on, bilge-pump on, refrig-on and high-bilge water.
22. Custom switches within easy reach of helm for windshield wipers.
23. Custom small, fold-down teak TV shelf in main salon
24. Custom teak step (with storage) inside starboard main-salon door
25. Custom teak leg extenders and foot racks for dining-chair legs to allow each chair to
become a raised helm seat, at lower helm

27. Xantrex Freedom 3000W inverter (decommissioned 2017): heavy battery and
inverter cables, high-capacity fuse, battery switch, battery boxes for 4 T-125 6v golf cart batteries, and schema for segregated inverter-fed breakers.
