Asahi Yacht | 104' Trehard 1998

ASAHI (ex-OCEAN'S SEVEN²) is a 31.80 m aluminium sailing yacht built in 1998 by the French shipyard Trehard to a design by naval architect Jacques Fauroux. Recorded speeds of 15 knots reaching and up to 23 knots surfing downwind demonstrate her potential under sail.

The accommodation sleeps up to 8 guests in 4 en-suite cabins, each of which can be configured with twin beds or a king-size bed. The two forward cabins can be combined to create an owner's suite with a central king-size bed, two seating areas and two separate bathrooms. The crew quarters aft comprise a captain's cabin with a queen-size bed and private bathroom, together with a double cabin and a twin cabin, for a crew of 5.

The interior is finished in light birch, with air conditioning throughout, upgraded LED lighting and wool carpets installed in 2019, and a fully renovated galley (2019). The central cockpit is dedicated to open-air dining, with a table for 10 to 12 guests, and is separate from the aft helm cockpit, which brings together the winches and sailing controls.

ASAHI is equipped with carbon-fibre spars by Espace Composite, an Incidence sail wardrobe and hydraulic sail-handling systems. A major refit carried out in 2019/2020 included a new 380 HP Cummins engine (2019), a 28 kW Kohler generator (2019) and a 27 kW Onan generator (2020), two new watermakers, replacement standing rigging and upgrades to the electrical, navigation and audio-video systems. Further maintenance was completed in 2022, including a shipyard period in Genoa for new antifouling and anodes.

Her cruising speed is 10 knots. Tank capacities are 5,850 litres of fuel and 1,950 litres of fresh water. ASAHI has a beam of 7.40 m, a draft of 3.70 m and a displacement of 102 tonnes. She is classified by Bureau Veritas and flies the British flag.
