OVERVIEW
“Bambochip” is a striking example of the Shipman 80, an ultra-light carbon performance cruiser that pairs grand prix sailing ability with refined, long-range luxury. She was conceived by her designer to be faster than every cruising boat before her, yet well-behaved enough to be sailed by a couple. Built entirely of carbon and epoxy and meticulously maintained since new by a single ownership entity, “Bambochip” was ordered new by one of the world’s most prestigious sailing families and has never been chartered. The owning LLC can convey with her, and a comprehensive 2025 refit brings her to a genuinely turnkey standard. Her combination of advanced engineering, premium systems and thoughtful upgrades places her at the top of the most compelling yachts in her class. On deck, clean flush lines and a large protected cockpit create a safe and social sailing environment, while her hydraulically lifting deep keel, twin carbon rudders and retractable carbon bowsprit deliver remarkable versatility. She is fast and comfortable offshore, yet able to slip into shallow harbors. Premium components run throughout, including a Hall Spars carbon rig, Harken carbon winches and extensive titanium hardware. As the flagship of the entire Shipman series, she was specified with two things no other Shipman has: full acoustic insulation throughout, and a Kevlar-reinforced laminate below the waterline that extends 30 cm above it.
Inside, the accommodation is bright, contemporary and built for comfortable extended cruising. Large panoramic windows fill the saloon with natural light and enhance the open-plan layout. Three cabins include a full-beam, light-filled owner’s suite and two well-appointed guest cabins plus crew quarters, with systems engineered for autonomy and redundancy worldwide. She also carries her own history: photographs from every step of the build, the original designer’s drawings and a complete technical archive covering every system and every refit, the kind of record few yachts can show.

Spares Package & Cradle “Bambochip” is sold with a comprehensive spares and tools package, developed over many offshore miles to keep her self-sufficient worldwide. She also comes with her custom, manufacturer-built cradle, engineered to support the hull correctly for drydocking, storage and transport; it packs into a 20-foot container and has been air-freighted across the Atlantic to meet her.
