Manufactures modified comments: The R-31S is ideal for a couple who like extended cruising while still being a trailerable trawler. The builders at Ranger Tugs equipped the foredeck with seating and a table that can be raised or lowered depending on whether the boat is under way or at anchor or dock for entertaining. In addition to the foredeck seating, the R-31 boasts a larger cockpit area with wraparound seating utilizing seats that fold out of the gunwale. When not entertaining, seats are folded leaving the cockpit unencumbered.
The interior layout of the R-31S features two staterooms—one large island berth forward with en suite head and a midship berth and day head. Those who are familiar with Ranger Tugs models will recognize the galley layout and helm station that maximize interior space. A starboard side door provides easy access from the helm to the side decks so crew can get to the bow for line handling.
Like all Ranger Tugs, the R-31S comes essentially turnkey with standard features and equipment intended to make her owner’s experience hassle-free and allow for ease of handling and comfort under way. Standard equipment includes bow and stern thrusters, an optional aft steering station and a Volvo D4 300hp engine that achieves a 14+ knot cruise speed.

The R-31S's interior is warm & bright thanks to the use of light fabrics & headliner, 4X ceiling skylights, opening salon windows and the handcrafted satin finished teak cabinetry and walls which create a comfortable living environment. Accommodations include two staterooms with double berths and a head with convertible stall shower.
Salon
The salon encompasses the main living space, galley and helm station. As you enter the salon, to port, under the main settee is a cabin with a double berth, to starboard is the well-appointed galley, then forward is the lower helm with a deck access door and across from the helm the guest cruising settee.

Forward stateroom
The stateroom features an island bed with built-in storage, headboard reading lights, port side nightstand, skylight, indirect lighting, teak & holly flooring, TV & stereo system, diesel heat, wraparound shelving with a teak guard rail and ensuite access to the main head.
Head
The head was smartly designed to save space, while still offering a convertible stall shower. Head features include a Techma toilet, vanity with solid surface countertop, glass vessel sink, opening portlight and skylight.
Guest stateroom
The guest stateroom is located in the aft port side of the main salon. Features include a double berth, dual opening portlights, reading lights and the vessels day-head.
The galley runs along the starboard side of the main salon and features teak cabinetry with solid surface countertops, quality appliances with abundant drawer & cabinet storage and opening windows that provide excellent visibility for the vessel's chef and great airflow while he/she prepares sumptuous meals.
Galley features include
Electrical power is provided by the 125V/30A SmartPlug shore power system, ProMariner 2500-watt inverter/charger and the vessels DC battery system. All power is managed by the AC/DC panels located in the main salon.
The engine compartment is accessed a large electronically actuated hydraulic ram system. The engine room is very clean and well maintained. Propulsion power is a Volvo D4 300BHP diesel engine that delivers up to 14 knot cruise & 16+ top with great fuel economy.
The R-31 S offers two helm stations, with the main helm in the forward starboard side of the salon and a helm station located in the forward starboard side of the cockpit.

The helm features include a captain's chair, sliding side deck access door, a smartly designed helm console that makes is easy for the helmsperson to see both over the console & easy reach to the equipment housed in the helm.

The cockpit helm cabinet houses both the helm control and the wet bar with a hot/cold water, chrome finished faucet, cup holders and a stainless-steel sink, cabinet storage and inside the cabinet you'll find the main 12VDC battery safety breakers.
