A classic, purpose designed by the Sparkman & Stephen firm. Built by the legendary Minneford Yacht Yard of City Island, NY to tend "Intrepid" for its Americas Cup campaign(s).

Originally Named "Spartan" this vessel was based on, and elongated from, the "Escort" design by S&S. It was a one-off build comissioned to the Minneford Yacht Yard specifically for use as a tender to "Intrepid". Lore has it that this vessel was built from the off cuts of "Intrepids" construction.

Repowered and refit by Lyman Morse in 2015 "Escort" recieved modern systems for practical comfort and reliable Yanmar engines. This vessel is as at home navigating between yacht clubs as it is seaworthy enough for coastwise cruising.
