Walkthrough And Specifications

Walkthrough

Stepping aboard ‘FLEET’  via the opening gates in her transom or from the starboard side deck you know immediately you are on a proper and substantial vessel. The optional stern bustle increases the waterline length, improving efficiency, speed, buoyancy and comfort while underway or at anchor and it makes getting in and out of the tender easier and safer. Aft of the stern bustle on the swim platform there is a single chair and table.  Both are removable for stowage during passagemaking. At a peaceful anchorage, there is no better spot on board if one wants solitude for a quiet morning coffee, or an afternoon gin and tonic. The current owner relishes this tranquil space, far from the operational duties of the vessel, and close to the water.

Entering the salon through the extra-wide Dutch door, the wide-body design is noticeable from the ample beam of the salon and galley as is the increased amount of salon space due to the absence of a dry stack.    One of ‘FLEET’s’ standout features is her wet exhaust which eliminates the requirement  for a dry stack through the vessel.  This opens up the salon and pilothouse, which allowed the designer to increase storage and living space, and increased salon and pilothouse usability and visibility. Compared to a standard Nordhavn 62 the increased space is significant and noticeable.  In place of the stack, ‘FLEET’ has beautiful and useful teak lockers for storage of dishware and crystal.  There is superb natural light through four extra-large windows with smaller mullions that greatly improving the amount of natural light and sense of space in the salon.  This light  helps to highlight the tasteful, updated and modern interior featuring stunning joinery and neutral colors.  A large U- shaped settee to starboard with a convertible split table double as the ships hub for relaxing and the main indoor dining area onboard.  The dining table is in two pieces with a third removable centrepiece. In place, six guests can dine comfortably and when removed there are two cocktail tables that “kneel” and lower, and come together to make a handsome coffee table.  There is an entertainment centre and two Stressless lounge chairs to port then two bar stools at the galley counter forward, all surrounded by fine teak cabinetry. The new bound carpets throughout add an elegant feel allowing the traditional teak and holly soles to show around the perimeter.

The

components are state-of-the-art commercial units and there was a complete rewire of pilot house nav systems putting all systems on the new NEMA 2000 backbone.  Behind the Stidd chairs is a large raised settee with a split teak table providing room for guest. A proper pilot berth with privacy curtain is aft of the settee allowing safe crew rest while shorthanded on long passages.  There is abundant teak cabinetry and drawers to store all manner of pilothouse needs. The elimination of the dry stack exhaust and the absence of a day head provide an incredibly and surprisingly spacious area in the pilothouse.  The space is bright and open, and is an inviting gathering space while underway, or at rest.   The pilothouse has three sets of Dutch doors; port, starboard and aft.  The door to the aft deck is unique and can easily become perhaps the most used door to the outside spaces.
