This 2 stateroom/2 head compartment layout is a favorite for a cruising couple with family or crew. The interior woodwork is finished in light mahogany with a matte silk finish. The cabin sole is teak with inlaid holly stripes, covered by a beige carpet (except in the galley area) which snaps down along the perimeter. The saloon ceiling is light paneling with mahogany stripes, and the ceilings in the remainder of the boat have light lining. Upholstery in beige (new in 2015) and all ports and hatches are fitted with curtains. Interior lights upgraded to led.
Adjustable reading lights are located above all berths and above the saloon settee, easy chairs and the nav station. Cove lighting is located on all three sides of the saloon and also alongside the nav station. There are six overhead halogen lights in the saloon and two in each stateroom. There are four dorades, four opening hatches, and 12 opening ports providing ample ventilation and good natural lighting. Eight (8) 12V fans for additional air circulation. There are stainless steel hatch bars fitted on the companionway and aft hatch.
Saloon
The main saloon has a port-side L-shaped settee surrounding a sturdy dining table with center storage for wines and spirits. The back cushions of the port settee fold outward for easy access to commodious storage facilities behind. Mahogany hand rails and other hand-holds are located throughout the saloon. Hallberg-Rassy's signature easy chairs are to starboard with additional storage behind.
Forward Stateroom
The forward stateroom has a generous v-berth with a cushioned infill. There is very generous storage for items of all kind beneath the berths. Five opening cabinets surround the berths. Large hanging locker. Separate floor-to-ceiling storage cupboard with shelves. Storage closet with shelves topped by a convenient bureau-type table-top with fiddles.
Forward Head
The forward stateroom has its own separate head/shower compartment with china sink, large mirror, white laminate surfaces, teak floor grating, and Jabsco manual toilet. Holding tank in forward head only. A dedicated electric pump drains the shower wastewater directly overboard without passing through the bilge. Ventilation is provided by a ceiling hatch and an opening port. AC and DC electrical outlets.
Aft Stateroom
There is direct access to the aft stateroom from the main saloon. The aft cabin has a double berth to starboard and a single berth to port, with a dressing chair between the berths. An infill between the double and single berth provides a single large berth athwartships. Four large storage cabinets surround the berths. Small cabinet doors on the aft wall provide access to an additional storage area beneath the aft deck. A large hanging locker is located on the port side. A bureau with a large tabletop surface, three drawers and a storage cabinet below, and a storage cabinet above, is located on the port side. A second bureau is located on the forward bulkhead; it has a tabletop, a large mirror above, and a storage cabinet below.
Ensuite Aft Head
The aft stateroom has its own dedicated head with china sink, large mirror, and large medicine cabinet. Separate shower stall with a seat. Shower waste is drained directly overboard by dedicated shower drain pump. Ventilation is provided by an opening port and ceiling ventilator. AC and DC electrical outlets.
Aft Walkthrough
This passageway provides direct access from the main saloon to the aft stateroom on the port side. A large hanging wet-locker on the port side. Two large doors providing access to the engine room on the starboard side. An additional cabinet on the port side immediately behind the nav station seat holds the 2nd refrigeration box. The top of the refrigerator compartment is a large, flat surface with sizable fiddles which works perfectly for spreading charts while under way. A two-shelf cabinet, convenient for storage of navigation materials and other frequently used manuals, etc., on the port wall above the freezer cabinet. A large storage cabinet on the starboard side located under the companionway ladder.
Navigation Station
The forward-facing nav station is located on the port side immediately behind the port-side settee. Spacious desk with a large table top and a generous compartment beneath. Four drawers and a storage cabinet on the exterior side of the nav desk. Additional storage compartments under the nav station seat and beneath the nav desk. A storage compartment with a lid top immediately to the left of the nav desk, perfect for storage of file folders, navigation books, etc. All electronic navigation instruments are conveniently located on a panel and shelf above the nav desk. Immediately behind the nav station chair there is a large table top (above the freezer compartment below) which is an excellent place to work on charts while under way without having to clutter up the top of the nav station, where a computer is usually located. A two-shelf cabinet for storage of additional navigation books and other materials is located immediately behind the nav station seat. Mahogany holder for pencils, pens and hand nav instruments (compass, etc.)
The “U”-shaped galley is located to starboard of the companionway ladder
Hallberg-Rassy yachts are designed with safety and ease of maintenance foremost in mind. Nothing exemplifies this more than the engine room. This is a very spacious engine room which is accessed by two large, insulated and rubber-sealed doors. This provides far superior access to both the main engine and the generator, as well as to all auxiliary equipment, including the pressure water system equipment and hot water tank, than that afforded on most other cruising yachts of this size.
