KAJAK is a 153’ (46.6m) North American Shipbuilding custom yacht, delivered in 2002 and comprehensively upgraded between 2023 and 2026. Built in Italy by a carefully selected team of industry pioneers, her naval architecture was by Sergio Cutolo of Hydro Tec, with Luiz de Basto responsible for the interior and exterior design. Construction was overseen by Roberto Lottini and Genesis.
Her semi-displacement hull provides a perfect balance of seakeeping and efficiency, with twin Caterpillar 3512B engines delivering 2,250hp each at 1,925rpm. She cruises comfortably at 13 knots, has a maximum speed of 18 knots and a range of approximately 5,000 nautical miles at 13 knots.
Built to ABS classification and MCA compliance, KAJAK has been carefully maintained throughout her life. She is fully wheelchair accessible, with a custom dock lift and a full-service elevator providing access to all decks. Quantum Zero-Speed stabilisers provide additional comfort both underway and at anchor.
The interior has a timeless character, with styling by Ralph Lauren Home and extensive use of African Makore mahogany and Tuscan marble. Her five-stateroom layout accommodates up to 10 guests. The master suite, recently remodelled by her current owners, is located on the upper deck and benefits from increased privacy and excellent views. The Owner’s deck also features a private library and family room, providing a quiet space for reading, working, watching television or simply spending time away from the main guest areas.
Guest accommodation on the lower deck comprises a starboard queen stateroom with en-suite shower, a port-side VIP stateroom with queen bed and en-suite bathroom, and two twin staterooms. The port-side twin has an en-suite shower, while the starboard twin has an en-suite bathroom.
Crew accommodation is equally well considered, with five cabins in total. These include en-suite captain’s and chef’s cabins on the main deck, together with three crew cabins below. Dedicated crew access and a private companionway to all decks allow the crew to move around the yacht discreetly while maintaining guest privacy.
A distinctive feature of KAJAK is her partially enclosed sundeck. The forward section is enclosed and surrounded by large windows, providing 270-degree views, while the open aft section is arranged for relaxation, with a large Jacuzzi and generous sunbathing space.
KAJAK has been built and maintained to a consistently high standard since delivery and has benefited from careful ownership and ongoing investment over the years. Several members of the original build team have remained involved with the yacht and have contributed to her recent major refit. This continuity is unusual and provides a strong link between the yacht’s original design intent and her present condition.
