Pleasant Living is a boat that took her new to sailing owners all over the Caribbean safely, and brought them back to start a life together ashore.
That's the beauty of an Island Packet. They aren't "fussy". Show them where you want to go, adjust the sails, and they'll get you there. Safely.
The 40 is one of those designs that has been doing good work for their owners for years. It accommodates all sorts of gear, with an amazing amount of bins, cubbies, areas under the cabin sole and behind and under the cushions in the salon.
She is stiff, and because of her keel, won't round up when over powered. Her split rig allows versatility in all conditions, adding to your safety, and with rack and pinion steering, you never have to worry about cables and pullies failing at the wrong time.
Pleasant Living has given her owners memories to last a lifetime, now it's your turn.

The Island Packet 40 is one of the best cruising boat designs, ever.
She has two heads with the owners cabin with ensuite head forward. This layout truely affords privacy for two couples and offers a terriffic design for passagemaking. When coming down the companionway, everything you need is right there. Galley....nav station....head and aft cabin.....right there and perfect for those long runs
The forward cabin is the owners cabin and has a large pullman style berth to starboard with a bank of drawers underneath and a hanging locker and storage compartments to port. The private head ,with shower, is forward, in the bow.
The main saloon is large and bright with bulkhead mounted table (Island Packet's signature), facing settees and aft facing nav station. The amount of storage in this boat is amazing, since the tankage is low. There is huge bin storage under and behind the settee's. Also, with opening ports and opening overhead hatches, she ventilates very well.
The aft cabin is to the port of the companionway and is well ventilated and roomy, with a door to the guest head.
To starboard of the companionway is the galley. It's a well designed galley with adequate counter space, good storage, a three burner propane stove with oven, microwave, double bowl stainless steel sink and a refrigerated icebox/ freezer with custom divider.
The galley is located at the base of the companionway to starboard. It is spacious and safe and has nonskid on the floor to help you keep your footing. Also, the galley is open to the salon, so the cook is always part of the activities.
Pleasant Living has two heads. One is the guest head at the base of the companionway. This head is perfect for day use and opens both to the salon and the aft cabin/guest quarters. When the door to the salon is closed, your guests have a private suite that offers privacy, and even has a full length mirror behind the salon door.
The private owner's head forward offers the same appointments, but is accessed through a door in the forward bulkhead. It is very private.
Pleasant Living has full 12V and 110V services with numerous plugs throughout.

Additional
Pleasant Living is cutter rigged. The addition of the staysail allows more versatility in rough weather or, permits easy sailing on those "lazy days".
These sails were serviced in 2022.
Going forward on Pleasant Living is safe and simple thanks to outboard shrouds, premium non-skid and good hand holds. The full length cabin top handrails, double lifelines and bulwarks all add to your safety.
The cockpit seats are long enough for napping and a separate raised helm seat with padded backrest is supportive for the captain and gives good visibility forward.
