In 1996, the entire hull sides were sanded to bare wood, the side rails were removed, and the entire hull sides down to the chine rail were covered over with two layers of fiberglass cloth and epoxy resin. The cloth used was one layer of 17 ounce bi-ax cloth, and one layer of 8 ounce matt. The epoxy used was Epon Epoxy resin, and thickened with Cab-o-sil (colloidal silica) to add strength. The side rails were replaced, and the hull was faired and repainted with Awlcraft 2000 paint.
