ROAM is a beautiful, custom-built classic wood trawler. Built in 1972 by McQueen Boat Works in British Columbia, she was designed by renowned naval architect Ed Monk Sr. ROAM measures 62 feet long with a beam of 15 feet 8 inches and has been meticulously maintained.
She is powered by twin 320-horsepower Caterpillar Marine D334TS diesel engines. Both engines are twin-turbocharged, aftercooled, and equipped with AirSep systems. A 10 kW Northern Lights generator provides onboard a/c power.
ROAM offers three comfortable staterooms. The midship master stateroom includes a private ensuite head, while two guest staterooms and a second head are located forward. Both heads have updated MasterFlush systems with new wiring and plumbing.
The main salon features an L-shaped dinette and dining table to starboard, with additional seating to port. The galley is conveniently located on the same level, just forward of the salon. Between the galley and pilothouse, the master stateroom and ensuite head are located on the port side.
The pilothouse includes a fully equipped lower helm station and comfortable forward-facing bench seating that can also be used for sleeping while cruising. A companionway staircase on the port side leads to the two forward guest staterooms and guest head.
The flybridge can be reached by an interior ladder on the starboard side between the galley and pilothouse. It is also accessible from two exterior ladders located along the walkaround decks amidships. Both the lower helm and flybridge feature all new electronics.
The spacious flybridge has a canvas Bimini, generous seating, and lounging areas on both the port and starboard sides. A davit and dinghy storage area are located toward the stern. Six 200-watt solar panels are mounted on the Bimini, providing enough power to operate the refrigeration and other onboard appliances.
At the bow, ROAM is equipped with an electric Ideal anchor windlass, a galvanized fluke anchor, and 380 feet of galvanized chain.
Major structural maintenance was recently completed. All ribs were sistered with new oak supports, the fasteners were refastened, and all seams were recaulked and resealed.
