Fire Main System

Standard Specification

  • The fire main system and the emergency bilge system share the AC, and the portable diesel pumps.
  • Primary fire hydrant (default) pump - centrifugal type - 400V AC - self-priming - capacity 45m3/hr @ 10m head - operated via switches located on the port side electrical panel within the engine room and in the fire hydrant locker. This pump will supply 2 fire hydrants positioned to cover all areas of the vessel.
  • Fire fighting equipment provided at fire hydrant point (sited in a fire locker) c/w fire hose and nozzle with instantaneous connections and quick release valves.
  • Secondary pump – portable centrifugal type – self priming – coupled to a manual start diesel engine. This pump will have a capacity of circa 40m3 / hr (approx 11L / sec) @ 10m head.
  • Pipe for all above systems to be a mixture of Cupro-nickel press type, Parker 421 SN (low pressure) non-metallic and flexible PVC hose (with spiral helix)
Bilge System

Standard Specification

  • The fire main system and the emergency bilge system share the AC, and the portable diesel pumps.
  • The bilge system as well as the above two pumps has four dedicated DC submersible pumps.
  • Machinery space - fitted with four bilge suctions. Three connected to submersible pumps for direct suction and one connected to the bilge manifold
  • Accommodation under floor - fitted with two bilge suctions. One direct connection to a submersible pump and one connected to the bilge manifold.
  • High level float switches operating a warning light and alarm at the main and upper console.
  • Each bilge suction will be fitted with a detachable and easily cleaned strum box.
