Originally built in 1990 as ASANTE, by the acclaimed Lyman Morse Shipyard in Maine, SOUTHERLY was one of the earlier Hunt ‘Deep Vee’ designs among larger yachts, resulting in a remarkably fast and smooth riding offshore cruising yacht of exceptional quality and comfort in all conditions. Her original owners were stepping back from a larger sailing yacht, so they brought a wealth of cruising yacht knowledge to this fast and comfortable, live aboard layout.
She was completely and totally refit in 2005/6 as SALLY-JO including new machinery and systems, plus full paint from bottom to flybridge, varnish and interior décor by the craftsmen at Front Street Shipyard in Maine. Until 2020, she was used for east coast cruising from Maine to Florida and maintained in perfect condition by an exceptionally knowledgeable Owner. In 2021, she was acquired by Wickford Shipyard, where she received extremely light use and the best of care. She received a new port engine in 2021 and at present she presents herself as a classic fast cruiser in impeccable condition ready to cruise the world in comfort and style.
