Stellar Blue Boat | 49' Hylas 2001

This 2001 Hylas 49' Cutter, Stellar Blue, represents the gold standard of German Frers blue-water design, optimized specifically for short-handed couples seeking offshore voyaging or self-sufficient Pacific Northwest cruising. The Hylas 49 is based on the Sparkman and Stephens designed Hylas 47, designed in 1986. Stellar Blue has been extremely well-maintained and upgraded by her 3 owners. The current owners recently went through the boat from bow to stern with the Port Townsend Shipwrights Co-op checking all systems and equipment and brought the boat to 100%. Stellar Blue is ready to head for any horizon!

  • Versatile 3-Cabin Layout: Exceptionally roomy arrangement sleeping up to nine between the Forward Cabin, Guest Cabin, Aft Cabin, Converted Dinette and Settee
  • Aft Cabin Suite: The true centerpiece of the layout is the expansive Aft Stateroom. It features a centerline queen berth, hanging lockers, and deep drawer storage, complemented by an en-suite private head and separate shower stall.
  • Main Salon: High-volume central salon upholstered with blue Ultra-Suede upholstery. Enhanced by large overhead windows and custom hull-side ports that flood the warm teak woodwork with natural light. Includes a massive U-shaped dinette to port and a comfortable settee to starboard. The Navigation Station is aft of the Galley on port.
  • Linear Galley: Optimally positioned for secure cooking at sea, offering immense refrigerator and freezer space, deep sinks, and Corian countertops that seamlessly connect to the main cabin area. 
  • Note: You can walk to the Aft Cabin via the Galley or through the Aft Head.
  • Forward Guest Stateroom: Outfitted with a deeply cushioned V-berth with infill, an upholstered dressing settee with a locker below, a dedicated hanging locker, and custom storage cabinetry/drawers located aft and to port.
  • Crew Cabin: Features a Pullman’s Berth, overhead hatch and portlights, hanging locker, drawers, and mirror. 
  • Ventilation & Lighting: Outstanding natural air exchange through 10 opening ports, 6 opening hatches, and 4 high-capacity Dorade vents. The entire interior has been retrofitted with low-draw, warm-spectrum LED lighting alongside excellent safety handholds throughout.
  • Four-Season Hydronic Heat: Equipped with a commercial-grade Hurricane hydronic heating system. The system is plumbed efficiently to keep the entire living space dry and warm, with dedicated high-output ducting to keep the fully enclosed upper cockpit comfortable during chilly winter cruising.
