Talamod Boat | 48' Hallberg-Rassy 2000

The Hallberg-Rassy 46 is a bluewater cruiser with a genuine global reputation, designed by the legendary Germán Frers and built in 132 units between 1995 and 2005. An extensive upgrade over the earlier HR 45, with a wider transom, higher freeboard, improved cockpit, and portlights increased from 8 to 13.  The HR46 was engineered for easy shorthanded sailing without compromising comfort below.  On her debut, she won Yacht of the Year in the largest category from Germany's respected Yacht magazine, and in 2019 the British HR46 Kathryn Del Fuego took first in class and 5th overall out of 122 boats in the ARC with her crew reporting zero structural, mechanical, or electrical failures crossing the Atlantic in Force 7-8 winds. Yachting World called her "the boat best-designed and equipped to sail long distances comfortably," and Yacht magazine dubbed her "a yacht with the genes to become a classic." CE Category A rated for unlimited ocean voyages, the Hallberg-Rassy 46 remains one of the most sought-after bluewater sailing yachts of her era on the used yacht market.

Talamod, Hull #144, was ordered new from the factory in 2000 and has been in her current ownership since 2015, when her owners purchased her in Granada and sailed her up to the Chesapeake Bay where she has been based and lovingly maintained ever since. Over the past several years she has received extensive systems upgrades including a 2021 refit encompassing NEW teak decks, standing rigging, generator, dinghy, and solar arch.  The result is a genuine bluewater cruiser that has already proven herself on an ocean crossing and is ready for many more.

Talamod combines the legendary Hallberg-Rassy build quality with a suite of thoughtful modern upgrades including the convenience of "Push Button Sailing" for effortless sail handling shorthanded. Boats this well-equipped, well-maintained, and proven offshore don't come to market often. Call today — you’ll be happy you did.
