Some boats are simply maintained. WHISH is cherished. This 2009 Grand Banks 45 Eastbay SX has been meticulously cared for, with records for all service performed, and it shows from the first step aboard. Her Flag Blue Awlgrip topsides, clear coated and set off by a Gold Cove stripe, catch the eye in any marina, and her custom oversized teak swim platform with Freedom Lift, 10-coat varnished teak toe rail and bright teak cockpit speak to the standard she has been kept to. You will not find a cleaner Eastbay on the market.
Performance matches the looks. Twin 600 hp Cummins QSC 8.3 diesels drive the C. Raymond Hunt-designed deep-vee hull to a top speed of over 30 knots, with a comfortable 25-knot cruise, and the Sleipner bow thruster and stern thruster make close-quarters docking easy. Both engines have 1,490 hours, and recent attention includes a replaced starboard aftercooler, serviced heat exchangers, a 2025 bottom job and new batteries.
Below, the popular study / guest cabin arrangement gives a cruising couple a dedicated office with a flip-up writing desk, and a private guest cabin when company comes aboard. The Dutch salon door and power aft salon window bring in plenty of fresh air, and the large cockpit is made for relaxed time on the water. Turn-key, immaculate and ready to cruise, WHISH is the Eastbay for the buyer who wants to step aboard and go.
WHISH significant features include:
WALKTHROUGH
Entry to the salon is through the Dutch door, which splits for ventilation. The curved aft glass panels and large opening side and front windows give 360-degree visibility. To starboard is a settee with custom cabinetry that hides the TV, which rises at the press of a button for viewing in the salon. The helm shares the salon, with a U-shaped dinette and custom teak table that seats six for dining and entertaining and also converts for sleeping.
Down the companionway, the galley is to port with the study / guest cabin to starboard, and the large pocket doors open the galley area up when the cabin is not in use. The master stateroom is forward with an island queen berth and an en suite head that is also reachable from the passageway.
