YQUEM is a 31.70-metre custom cutter-rigged sloop designed by Bill Tripp and built in 1992 by the American yard Windship-Trident. Previously sailing as Lunar Mist and later as Cinderella II, she now carries the name of one of the great Sauternes estates. Exterior lines by Bill Tripp, interior by Donald Starkey: she belongs to that rare category of blue-water yacht that simply never dates.
She lies in Valencia, Spain, under Maltese commercial flag and is offered VAT paid. Her epoxy composite hull, reinforced with Kevlar over a PVC foam core, combines lightness with genuine strength, while her teak deck gives her the classic presence that has always defined her.
Following twelve months at Solent Refit in 2012, YQUEM was entirely refitted between May 2025 and August 2026, an extensive programme reaching hydraulics, electrics, plumbing, propulsion, rigging, navigation electronics and interiors alike. Her 460 hp LUGGER main engine, fully refurbished, showed zero hours in August 2026, and the hydraulic systems are now governed by a custom-made PLC. Hull, keel, mast, boom, rigging and shaft have all been independently surveyed.
Her deck is arranged around two separate cockpits, a layout that protects guest privacy: amidships, a spacious and sheltered cockpit with its two dining tables; aft, the working cockpit with twin wheels. The SPARCRAFT carbon mast, born of the partnership formed for the 1992 America's Cup, remains notably solid, while the Park Avenue boom makes handling the mainsail remarkably straightforward. New running rigging, a 2026 SANDERS mainsail and a hydraulic furler complete a sail plan of 535 m² upwind and 1,110 m² downwind: this cutter reaches 12.5 knots at top speed, holds 9 knots cruising and carries a 1,900-nautical-mile range.
Below, a deck house with 360-degree views opens between deck life and saloon. Generous and luminous, the saloon combines lounge and dining area for eight guests; repainted white and fitted with an additional window, new couches and reworked lighting, it regained all its brightness during the refit. The galley, set aft of the saloon, is exceptionally roomy and beautifully arranged around its centre island. The owner's cabin is a large double with en suite shower and bath, joined by three double cabins each with its own bathroom. The crew have three separate cabins, including a twin cabin, along with a crew mess and a separate entrance from the aft cockpit.
