Florida yacht broker, Alex Wilkes was born with a passion for boating. He grew up fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, and water skiing on the Caloosahatchee River in Florida, however his passion was not only for boating. When Alex wasn’t on the water you could find him on the soccer field. After high school, Alex moved to the east coast to play soccer for Palm Beach Atlantic University. At the end of his last year for the Palm Beach Atlantic men’s soccer team, they placed third in the national tournament.
Alex’s passion for yachts, combined with a strong work ethic and consistent follow-through developed through collegiate sports, gives his clients a unique advantage when buying or selling their boat.
Alex says, “I have found my dream job. The ability to work around boats, meet new people, and build relationships is more than exciting.”

Our yacht broker Alex Wilkes is the “go” to person when you are searching for a boat in the United States. He has the ability to first understand your needs and preferences – and then look for you for the good choices in the market.
My wife and I were searching for our first boat. We do not live in the U.S. so we maintained a long distance communication with Alex, but this was by no means an obstacle. He was always available and easy to provide us with support and cover before hand any question or need that we could have.
Alex is more than a great yacht broker. He is someone that you can trust to get the best opportunity in the market and make your whole family happy.
Purchasing my Albin 32 was a great experience resulting primarily from the hard work and service provided by my yacht broker, Alex Wilkes. This is the first time that I considered making any significant purchase, based upon something I saw on the internet, or without being personally familiar with the item being purchase beforehand.
Alex provided all the information I needed to make an informed decision; particularly, since I would have to incur the costs not only associated with a survey, etc., but also travel costs to Florida. Alex got me through each phase of the process, providing very insightful information and guidance, including providing a lot of knowledge regarding boats and their mechanical operations, that resulted in a successful purchase. Alex also put me in contact with a person to handle the financing, a person to do the survey, including arranging the haul out at a marina for the bottom inspection, a person to handle the insurance and a person to transport the boat to Virginia.
Each of these people, like Alex, were very personable and readily provided answers to any questions I had, at any time of day. Alex also provided very sound information regarding the costs associated with each part of the process, including the process itself from the initial negotiations to having the boat documented.
Alex is very personable and a genuinely great person to be around. Alex also was available, at any hour of the day or evening, to discuss any issues or concerns I had regarding the purchase, and possible issues with the boat itself. Not only did Alex help me with the purchase of the boat, but he willingly offered to pick me up at my hotel and take me to the boat for the sea trial. In fact, at one point, I asked if there was anything that I needed to take care of, or was he going to make all the arrangements.
Alex quickly assured me that all of the arrangements were being made and I had nothing to arrange or be concerned about. In the end, the boat was delivered to Virginia on time and just as Alex had promised.
Simply stated, Alex’s effort and enthusiasm throughout this whole process made this a very comfortable and pleasurable experience, for a first time purchaser with a lot of questions. I would highly recommend Alex, and the folks he brought to the process, to anyone considering purchasing a boat for the first time, sight unseen.
For more than 2 years my Tiara 43, which was set up for hard core fishing as well as family cruising and getaways, was listed with another yacht broker at another brokerage firm. It was frustrating because I received no real offers in that time.
In fact, the broker rarely showed the boat. After meeting Alex and spending a bit of time with him, I knew he and Bob Denison would do things differently. Alex not only knew the details of my boat but also knew what I had added and how to present it as value against other like listings.
Literally after 2 days of listing boat with Alex, we had a buyer. Within 5 days we had a written offer and within 2 weeks we closed! That’s what I call REAL service and commitment to clients being happy. Thank you Alex for the great work.
Although I miss the boat, I look forward to buying my next one with you as my yacht broker. I highly recommend you and have already passed on your name to a client of mine that may need to upgrade his boat next year.

I live in New Zealand and recently purchased a Carver Motoryacht from Florida in the USA through Denison Yacht Sales and my yacht broker Alex Wilkes.
Alex proved he was a total professional and I would highly recommend my yacht broker to anyone who was looking to import a boat from the U.S.A. His constant communication was great and he answered all emails effectively and with good boating and yachting knowledge.
Alex certainly made the process of purchasing the boat effortless and made the journey an enjoyable effortless process.

We first contacted our yacht broker Alex Wilkes when we were still in California, planning to search for a boat to buy in Florida. We had contacted several boat brokers, but Alex was the first one to respond. Art had checked out several boats on line and told Alex that he wanted to make a trip to Florida to look at them and other boats. Alex quickly learned the type of boat Art was looking for (42 to 50 feet long, twin diesel engines, trawler body) and started lining up other boats and yachts for sale that fit this profile. And so, when Art made his first trip to Florida in March, 2012, Alex provided him a list of prospects that kept Art busy the entire time of his visit.
It turns out that Art decided to purchase the first boat he had seen. Alex helped him make the appropriate offer, and it was accepted, subject to the boat survey. Alex located a surveyor for Art. The surveyor did a thorough job finding the major items that needed repair. The surveyor’s findings led to a lower offer on the boat, which was accepted.
Art had to return to California, and so Alex represented his interests regarding the boat, when Art left Florida. For example, Alex suggested a repair yard capable of doing the work needed on the boat and Alex arranged for a captain to relocate the boat to a repair yard once the closing was done on the sale. Alex also arranged for the acquisition of the yacht documentation. When it turned out we needed to extend the 90 day period to leave Florida, Alex assisted us in getting an extension of 90 more days.
The boat repair yard was very busy, and our repairs were not being completed by the target dates set by the repair supervisor, nor was he giving us any accounting for what had been done and the expense of the work. We turned to Alex for assistance and he helped us tremendously in resolving some of the repair issues.
When we finally got our boat out of the repair yard, we needed a place to stay to complete some additional improvements. Alex offered us the marina used by Denison Yacht Sales, and he made the arrangements for us to take our boat there and to stay there. He was even on the dock to help us bring our boat into the slip he had reserved for us.
In sum, Alex has been instrumental in helping us realize our dream of becoming boat owners and preparing to cruise cruise the Atlantic Coast and the Bahamas. He has been very responsive to all of our inquiries and requests, and he has been extremely resourceful in helping us “navigate” around and through the obstacles that appear in the path of new boat owners. He is unflappable, when faced with challenging situations. His personality and temperament are both so pleasant that he gets things done without any drama or fanfare. He is very knowledgeable about boats and boat sales.
He doesn’t flaunt this knowledge. He just uses it to help his customer wherever possible. We recommend Alex Wilkes without reservation for anyone who wants to buy a boat. His professionalism is unparalleled.

“We would like to say Thank You for all your help in purchasing our first boat. Though the boat was an older less expense motoryacht, you made us feel that we were just as important as if it had a multi-million dollar price tag. You walked us through the whole process.
Denison Yachts and yourself were professional and a pleasure to work with.”

“I was lucky enough to have found my yacht broker, Alex Wilkes, after having interviewed about 10 brokers to sell my yacht. From my initial point of contact with him, I knew that as a seller, any potential buyers would be impressed by his demeanor, knowledge, and professionalism. He is such a pleasant, trustworthy fellow that you simply want to do business with him.
I cannot say enough about his skill set. He gets top marks for the manner and efficacy in which he quickly marketed and sold my Sunseeker. I highly recommend him for any brokerage service.”
