Herman was born outside Philadelphia where he grew up boating on the Jersey shore and Florida Keys with family. After graduating from Hargrave Military Academy, Herman went on to serve as a law enforcement and search and rescue member in the United States Coast Guard. Upon receiving his honorable discharge, Herman went on to operate his successful family restaurant in Sea Isle City, NJ until his love for the sea took him towards the yachting path.

In 1994 Herman obtained his United States Coast Guard Master Captains license and began working on a 103’ Broward. After several years of running and maintaining yachts that he was involved with the sale of his owners 80' Ferretti. Richard Bertram & Co was so pleased with the performance of Herman during the sale of the yacht that they immediately offered him a position as a yacht broker where he quickly rose to the top of his field.

His dedication, hard work, knowledge of yachts, and attention to detail eventually lead him to open the Florida Jarrett Bay Boat Works office in Fort Lauderdale. Always enjoying and appreciating Hargrave’s similar family and customer values, Herman joined the Hargrave team and was a leader in sales and charter, while providing Hargrave customers with unparalleled service.

After 10 years with Hargrave Yachts, Herman joined the Denison Yachting team, applying his lifetime of experience to managing the company's charter fleet operations.

Herman lives in Fort Lauderdale and can be frequently seen yachting or fishing with his clients, ensuring that they are enjoying the ocean as much as he does. Make sure to call him direct, you’ll be glad you did.
