Top Sales of 2021 [Yachts + Real Estate]

Marina Nazario | January 8, 2022

Comparing the biggest yacht sales with real estate sales in 2021.

Luxury yacht sales and real estate investment experienced a record-breaking year in 2021. Despite the pandemic, yacht sales experienced one of the strongest years with Denison brokering an industry-leading 112 superyacht transactions. On the other hand, the real estate market saw 6 properties that sold above $120 million (compared to one sale over $100 million in 2020, according to Inman).

Curious about how these two luxury markets compare? We dive into the top sales of 2021 for yachts and real estate by comparing sale price, volume, accommodation, and amenities.

Beaverhead Ranch holds the title for the biggest real estate sale of 2021. Murdoch’s new investment spans across two counties and is home to native wildlife.

LADY MOURA broke a record for the fastest known brokerage sale of a 100+ meter vessel. The 344-foot Blohm+Voss superyacht can accommodate 27 guests across 13 staterooms; crew quarters sleep up to 60 staff. She features an elegant interior designed by Luigi Sturchio that includes a movie theater/club with a DJ room, gym, owner’s study and medical suites, and two galleys. The exterior deck hosts a helipad.

3. 220 Central Park South

A touch-and-go helipad on the bow optimizes this yacht for extreme adventures.

5. 535 North County Road

$122.7 million
21,000 square feet

It’s no surprise that a 21,000-square-foot mansion in Palm Beach makes this list; a spec house purchased at $122.7 million is part of the most expensive deal in the city’s history. The property was once a 61,744-square-foot residence that belonged to former President Trump. The lot was bought, demolished, and divided into three separate residences.
