This 2017 Grand Soleil 43 features a modern design by Claudio Maletto, who has previously worked on high-profile projects such as Luna Rossa and Il Moro di Venezia in the 32nd America’s Cup.
The hull and deck are constructed using vacuum-infusion techniques with vinylester resin and a foam core, ensuring a strong and lightweight structure. Notably, the traditional galvanized steel grid used in previous models has been replaced with a lighter carbon-fiber structure.Additionally, bronze plates are incorporated into the deck laminate under hardware installations, enhancing durability and reducing corrosion. Compared to its predecessor, the new Grand Soleil 43 boasts a reduced wetted surface area despite carrying more beam aft. Moreover, the overall weight of the yacht has been decreased, with additional ballast incorporated into a more efficient T-bulb lead keel.
Moving on to the deck layout, the Grand Soleil 43 features an open-transom cockpit with twin Solimar helms connected to a single rudder, allowing for easy access to the steering quadrant. For convenience, there is a narrow fold-down swim platform to facilitate water access for swimmers and tenders. Sail controls, including the mainsheet, are led aft below deck to a series of Spinlock XTS clutches and 6 Harken winches (1 Electric). The wide main traveler is recessed beneath the teak cockpit sole.
Below deck, the yacht offers comfortable accommodations suitable for both cruising and racing. The layout includes twin staterooms aft with a shared toilet, and an owner's stateroom forward with a generous island double berth, and an ensuite head with a segregated shower stall and a swank electric Tecma toilet. A spacious galley to port, and a dinette area to starboard. The staterooms are remarkably spacious, with ample headroom and storage space. The galley features sleek white is equipped with essential appliances, including a stove, oven, and refrigerators.
Overall, the Grand Soleil 43 strikes a balance between performance and comfort, making it an ideal choice for sailors who enjoy both racing and cruising. Possibility of leasing takeover. Mooring fees paid until 2025.
