2010 Bandido 90 Explorer | Steel-Hulled Long-Range Motor Yacht | Refit 2021
Built in Taiwan by Jade Yachts as part of Drettmann’s Bandido explorer range, this 27.90-metre displacement yacht combines a steel hull and aluminium superstructure with naval architecture by Vripack and exterior design by JC Espinosa.
Her 7.70-metre beam and 224 GT volume create impressive space for a yacht of this length. The four-cabin arrangement includes a main-deck owner’s suite with a walk-in wardrobe and large private bathroom, together with three additional guest cabins. Separate crew quarters forward provide two cabins for four crew, a bathroom, dinette, pantry and independent access.
The main saloon incorporates comfortable sitting and dining areas, a bar, day head and direct access to the side deck. A separate upper-deck saloon and pilothouse provide an additional private living area. Outside, the sheltered aft dining area is complemented by generous flybridge and sky-deck spaces with seating, sunbathing areas, wet bars, refrigeration, an ice maker and barbecue. Teak extends across the cockpit, side decks, stairs, bathing platform, foredeck and upper decks.
A large stern garage accommodates a Williams diesel tender and Sea-Doo personal watercraft. Additional equipment includes a hydraulic gangway, hydraulic bathing ladder, underwater lighting and electric anchor windlasses with two 100-metre chains.
Twin MAN D2842LE410 diesel engines produce 1,100 hp each through conventional shaft drives, providing a cruising speed of approximately 11 knots and a maximum speed of 13 knots. Her 38,000-litre fuel capacity supports an estimated range of approximately 3,200 nautical miles at 10 knots. Hydraulic bow and stern thrusters assist manoeuvring, while Wesmar fin stabilisation improves comfort at sea. The owner reports approximately 5,000 engine hours and approximately 10,000 generator hours.
A substantial refit was completed in 2021, including hull painting, teak and exterior-table restoration, shaft removal and inspection, replacement of shaft bushings, renewal of through-hull fittings and checks to the stabilisers, rudders, hydraulics, machinery, water systems and electrical equipment.
Additional cruising equipment includes two ONAN 55 kW generators, dual shore-power connections, a 150-litre-per-hour watermaker, waste-treatment system, heating and air conditioning, CCTV monitoring and integrated Simrad and Raymarine navigation equipment.
Maltese-flagged and currently lying in Greece.
