A PROVEN PLATFORM WITH A REMARKABLE STORY
CARE BEAR is not a conventional 95-foot yacht, and that is precisely her appeal. Built around a proven commercial
hull design, this U.S.-built steel Ocean Voyager was created for long-range, mission-oriented use with an emphasis on
reliability, serviceability, substantial tankage and usable working deck space rather than elaborate yacht-style
outfitting.
Originally named CHAGOS, she was extensively customized as a fishing mothership capable of carrying three custom
flats boats. Following that customization, she departed Fort Lauderdale, Florida on her own bottom for the west coast
of Africa, where she anchored off river mouths and served as a floating base for professional guides, her owner, guests
and charter clients pursuing world-record tarpon from the flats boats she carried.
Today, the name CARE BEAR reflects her current work as a humanitarian relief vessel. That mission helps explain her
intentionally practical, commercial-style outfitting. Rather than disguising her working-vessel character, it reinforces
what makes this platform compelling: she has already served two very different missions and offers the next owner a
substantial foundation for another.
THE NEXT MISSION
CARE BEAR's commercial heritage, steel construction, tankage, working decks and support systems make her
relevant to buyers whose requirements fall outside the conventional yacht market. Depending on the next owner's
intended operation and applicable regulatory requirements, the platform may lend itself to sportfishing mothership or
tender support, liveaboard dive and marine exploration, research or salvage support, remote surf and adventure
expeditions, humanitarian or disaster-response work, commercial crew and supply operations, or yacht-support duty.
These are potential applications of the platform, not representations that CARE BEAR presently carries the regulatory
approvals, equipment or certifications required for every use. Buyers should independently evaluate flag, class,
passenger, charter, commercial, insurance and local operating requirements for the mission contemplated.

CARE BEAR's interior reflects her working-vessel purpose. The existing arrangement includes three guest cabins
below, three heads and a laundry room, plus a lower crew stateroom configured with four bunks. The former master
cabin is presently used for additional storage in support of the vessel's current mission. On the main deck are a
second crew stateroom, lounge and head, while a captain's cabin is located aft of the pilothouse with its own head
and outside shower. The stainless-steel galley is fitted with a Garland commercial stove and Samsung refrigerator. The
arrangement is practical, serviceable and adaptable rather than decorative - consistent with the vessel's commercial
and expedition character.
The owner reports an approximately $700,000 refit at Fairhaven Shipyard in Massachusetts, and an ultrasonic steelhull
survey was performed in 2021. CARE BEAR is a USCG documented vessel. HMY has access to a meaningful
package of vessel information and supporting records and is prepared to share available documentation with qualified
interested parties as appropriate. Buyers should independently verify the scope, dates and current status of refit,
survey, documentation and equipment during due diligence.
CARE BEAR's history is the strongest evidence of what makes her different. As CHAGOS, she crossed the Atlantic and
supported a specialized West African fishing program. As CARE BEAR, she has been put to work in humanitarian relief.
For a buyer who values commercial construction, working space, serviceability and the freedom to configure a vessel
around a mission, CARE BEAR offers a distinctive starting point for fishing, diving, exploration, research, adventure
travel, relief work, commercial support or expedition conversion.
