Improvements 2024/2025:
Built on the same hull form as the popular GB 46 Classic, the Grand Banks 46 Europa offers a spacious deck house that opens aft to a shaded cockpit. The extra living space of the saloon and cockpit area, well protected deck space, abundant storage throughout, and the expansive flybridge area all add up to a a very popular design. The flybridge extends over both side decks and the cockpit, providing extra protection from the sun and inclement weather. This extended flybridge is spacious enough for a complete steering and navigational station with built-in seating, an entertainment area, and a dinghy mounted athwart ship. A prominent feature of the Europa design is its connection of the interior saloon with the outside cockpit. With the beautifully crafted sliding door open at anchor or at dockside, the living space flows naturally from the indoors to the outdoors. The galley is readily accessible to this expanded living space, a bonus for entertaining. The standard layout features a forward cabin with queen berth and en suite head and a second cabin to port with two single bunks. A guest head with shower lies to starboard. Engine room access on the 46 Europa is via an entrance through the rear bulkhead under the cockpit. This allows for quick checks on equipment without disturbing the guests and crew in the main saloon. The engine room, with five-feet of headroom, has plenty of space for installation of the standard generator and a host of options. As with the Grand Banks 46 Classic and Motor Yacht, the Europa can be powered by a number of diesel options, from a single engine to a pair of turbocharged V8s. Cruising speeds range between eight and 14 knots and top speeds can reach 18 knots.
Safari is a galley-up, two-stateroom two-head layout. She can be boarded from either side, through side boarding gates. You can access entry to the salon directly through double sliding doors from the cockpit. Moving forward, the U-Shaped galley is to port, and to starboard is a lower helm station with a single helm seat and a door out to the starboard side deck. Forward and down four steps are the sleeping quarters. To port is the guest stateroom with twin berths. To starboard is the guest head with a separate shower stall as well as a separate utility room with stacked washer and dryer and storage cabinets. Forward is the master stateroom with a center-line queen berth and en-suite head compartment with separate stall shower. Fully forward is the anchor locker.
From the large cockpit there is an aluminum ladder with Teak step that provides access to the flybridge. Upper bridge offers a second helm station. The deck above the aft cockpit provides a davit and storage for the dinghy.
