"Scrimshaw IV" is a 1998 Gozzard 44 Custom Center Cockpit cutter rigged Sloop still owned by it’s original owner. While built on the Gozzard 44 aft cockpit hull, she has many custom features specified by the owner during countless hours working closely with the designer and builder. Her hull is Corintha Blue with topside and stripes in Oyster White. She has both in mast roller furling as well as jib and staysail roller furling. All control lines, except the preventor, are led to the cockpit. A complete set of instruments are maintained in the cockpit in a pod at the helm.
What really sets this boat apart are her striking looks that adorn a powerful, safe and strong construction. There are so many accents from the polished bronze dolphins that adorn the toerail transition, the solid teak octagon skylight above the forward cabin, and so many smaller touches that make her stand tall above all else. Then there is the boundless clever ideas that Gozzards are known for, from the convertible forward cabin, to the storage lockers where most boats have useless space, and hideaway stern access to name just a few. This is one boat that has to been seen to understand, and once you do, like so many that see her, you won't be able to look away and you will want to make her yours.
