Interior Accomodations
The Gozzard philosophy is to design their boats for two owners, as most cruising boats are owned and sailed by a couple who have overnight guests only occasionally. The interior layout is therefore designed to increase the space for its occupants while providing the means to create a separate cabin when overnight guests do arrive.
The interior “A” layout incorporates a galley with island, a 2-seat dinette, two heads with a separate shower between, navigation station/work area, aft cabin, and a forward salon (living area) that converts to a centerline queen bed or a dining table that seats 7-8.
Comfortable companionway stairs take you below. Hinged and sliding screens easily close to keep insects outside. The Interior is North American Cherry finished with satin varnish. All locker doors are louvered for ventilation. The cabin sole is solid teak and basswood and finished with high gloss urethane varnish. The cabin overhead is of gloss white fiberglass panels held in place by cherry battens. Fourteen opening ports and two hatches, all screened, provide flow-through ventilation. Innovative storage includes many purpose-built lockers, cabinets, drawers, and bins. A wine rack is tucked behind the port settee. All overhead and task lights are LED, with well-placed night lighting.
The forward salon features two settees and two swivel bucket chairs around the coffee table. The coffee table opens for more storage and to support a large dining table that seats eight. The two settees slide to form a center-queen bed with access from both sides. Ample storage and hanging lockers surround the salon. A recessed door and folding panel allow the salon to be converted to a private cabin.
A two-seat dinette is forward of the galley, with storage below and behind each seat. The galley includes an island with double stainless sinks, Seagull water filter, front-loading fridge and top-loading freezer with acrylic see-through shelves, microwave, three-burner Force 10 stove/oven/broiler, an innovative swing-out dish storage cabinet, and cabinets for flatware, utensils, pans, and spices. The island design provides multiple paths for access and serving buffet style.
Two heads are to port, with a separate enclosed shower between them. Each head includes an electric, macerating toilet, sink, fan, and storage above and below. The shower has a teak seat and a port for ventilation.
The aft cabin features an oversized berth, cabinet with slide-out drawers and hanging locker, additional storage above the berth, and three ports and a fan for ventilation.
The nav station to starboard includes a large chart table and easy access to the electrical panel, VHF and SSB, 12” chartplotter, and storage for accessories. Behind the nav station is a large storage area and the washer/dryer combo.
The hydronic heater pumps glycol through four radiators with individual thermostats placed throughout the boat, providing warmth in cold months while sipping diesel. A valve puts the system in summer mode to heat only the hot water tank. The six solar panels provide all the power needed to sit at anchor for weeks with even 30% cloud cover. The electric transom provides a convenient two-step entry to the dinghy and easy swim platform.
