Biography

Will Petersen has dedicated the majority of life to yachting and the marine industry. He is an experienced yacht racer and educator of the sport.

As a Southern California native, Will Petersen grew up boating in the California Yacht Club Junior Program, where he was honored to represent the club as Junior Commodore. Will has competed on behalf of the yacht club in hundreds of sailing regattas both locally and internationally. Will also grew up cruising Santa Monica Bay and Catalina in lots of different powerboats including his family's 43’ Wellcraft express cruiser.

Following his passion for boating, Will went on to attend the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where he competed on the varsity sailing team. As captain, he lead the team to many victories and a national championship appearance. Will graduated from the University of Hawaii with a bachelor’s degree in Travel Industry Management with a focus in Hospitality Management.

Following college, Will held various jobs including an administrative assistant position at Oahu Country Club and was a sail maker at North Sails Hawaii. After spending enough time in paradise, he married his college sweetheart and moved back to his hometown of Marina del Rey, California.

Using his education and his knowledge of boats, he decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a yacht broker at Denison Yacht Sales California. Will’s extensive boating experience makes him a superior choice when looking for your next dream yacht. He will do whatever it takes to ensure you have an enjoyable experience whether buying or selling your yacht.

“Being a yacht broker is my dream job," Will says. "Being able to utilize my communication skills with my passion and knowledge of boating is a perfect match. I have tremendous satisfaction in having other people share my passion for boating.”

Today Will continues to teach and coach sailing part time for both kids and adults. He can regularly be seen hanging around the California Yacht Club, either racing his 24’ Martin sailboat in the competitive local fleet or cruising the harbor is his family’s 28’ outboard powerboat.
