Julian’s experience in yachting, spans 25 years, first stepping aboard the 40 metre classic ‘Welsh Liberty’ in 1995, in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. Julian has since undertaken voyages across the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, The Red, Mediterranean and Caribbean seas, clocking 25,000 plus nautical miles. He came ashore to start a family, moving to London to help set up the London Office of Fraser Yachts. During nine years operating between London, Monaco, Fort Lauderdale and San Diego, he sold new constructions, brokerage vessels from 30 to 45 metres and many charters. Three years as client representative for 40 metre new constructions in both Holland and Italy gave him valuable insight into every aspect of the boat building process and solidified his technical and legal knowledge. A law degree, specialising in contract, has repeatedly proved invaluable. Equally confident representing buyers and sellers, he has successfully acted for clients from the US, Europe, Russia and the Middle East for both sail and power vessels. In 2017 he took a sabbatical to pursue his dream of cruising his own small sailboat with his family. The 3 years spent buying, refitting and cruising his Whitby 42 around the Caribbean helped him develop an experienced based empathy for the boat owner’s journey.   Moving back to Europe to take advantage of an opportunity to Captain a Swan 100 for a broker colleague, he assisted in the successful closing of sale, giving him first-hand experience of the sale and purchase of a yacht as, Captain, Owner and Broker. Julian was appointed Sales Broker for the Monaco Office of Denison Yachting in December 2021.
