NAMASTE 40m Tamsen Superyacht Walkthrough Video

November 15, 2017 11:50 am

NAMASTE enjoys many unique and innovative attributes that make her stand out from the crowd. The talented designers at Tamsen Yachts have created a yacht with a length of 40 meters (131 feet), with deck areas and interior spaces that give the feeling of a much larger vessel. Join us as we take a walkthrough of this unique superyacht:

Hi, I’m Glynn Smith from Denison Yachting. We’re here in Cannes in the South of France. We’re onboard the 40 meter Tamsen called “Namaste.” We’re going to do a very special walkthrough today.

Those of you are not familiar with the Tamsen design, she was built in 2008 in Turkey, designed by the Germans. They’ve done something very unique about keeping you connected to the ocean even when you’re inside the yacht in ways that you would not expect.

So we’re going to begin the tour on this swim platform today on “Namaste.” The key feature back here where there is a tender garage. On a 40-meter yacht you don’t normally expect that. It’s great because you can keep all the toys inside the garage; keeps the decks very clean. Let’s move on up to the aft deck.

So we’re in the main deck aft. We have a fantastic area for sunning, big space, and we have this wonderful table which gives you a couple of options – high and low, you can have cocktails or you can open it up for dining and it will easily sit 12 people.

We’re going to move from the main deck aft. We’re going to move forward along these very wide companionways. The bulwarks are very high, and if you remember I was talking about bringing the outside in, and this is going to be really highlighted later on when we’re in the interior. Look at the bulwarks, how they open up. It’s a great feature; always feel safe walking up through here.

Let’s make our way forward to the bow now. So we’re here on the bow. The German designers were very clever thinking about this area; great to have dinner, lunch, breakfast. When you finish, just jump in the Jacuzzi. So we’re going to make it away from the bow and we’re going to head to the main salon.

So we’re in the main salon. One fantastic feature is the sliding doors; they open all the way – look at this. So the instant feel as you walk in here is the enormous headroom we have. And as you look up we’ve got these wonderful skylights bringing in so much more light.

If you remember I was telling you about being connected to the water; look how spectacular this is. I think it’s just such a simple and effective design to connect you to the sea. Quick breakdown of the main salon – we have a wonderful bar on the port side, great seating area on the starboard side and also a small seating area on the port side.

With this open concept it flows into the formal dining area. So the forward part of the main salon you have a beautiful round dining table that has a built-in lazy Susan, and directly above you have this wonderful skylight.

Moving forward on the starboard side going into the main foyer and we have a wonderful piece of artwork which continues the theme “Namaste.” So also on the main deck foyer you have a dayhead on the starboard side. As we continue forward toward the master stateroom, before we get there, we actually enter into the owner’s office, which is very spacious. The office space is very peaceful, but you’re also still very much connected to the ocean.

As we move forward into the master stateroom we have a full-beam master stateroom. There’s a pop-up TV just aft of the centerline king bed. It’s ample closet space in the master stateroom.

On the starboard side you have a great seating area and on the port side you have a very unique feature, you have a wet bar in the master stateroom. And there just after that you have the master bathroom.

We’re coming back out of the master stateroom back into the main salon. And just around the corner here, we have stairwell which goes up to sky lounge. But before we go there, let’s head down to the guests staterooms.

As we’re heading down the steps we go to the lower deck in the guest foyer area. We’ve got a wine fridge here and refrigerator for drinks, very conveniently located. Connected to the guest foyer area we’ve got four staterooms, and if we look in the aft staterooms first of all, both are identical port and starboard side, kind of a unique feature. You have queen bed and a single bed. These are really ideal for kids and/or nanny, works very well.

The forward guest staterooms are identical – port and starboard. And they have a vanity area, also to point out that all these staterooms are ensuite. As we come back up from the lower deck into the main salon, we’re just going to continue up to the sky lounge.

So we’ve come up to the sky lounge now and on the starboard side, you got a beautiful sitting area. Over here on the port side you have this huge table, which is obviously fantastic for dining.

Just like the main salon, the sky lounge sliding doors recess all the way. This really does combine again the exterior and the interior of the yacht. As we come out of the sky lounge onto the bridge deck aft, we had a wonderful bar over here on the portside and then moving further aft, fantastic social area, sitting area for dining and taking some sun.

So as you move forward from the sky lounge, you enter into the bridge on the starboard side. You have a nav station, radio station. Here you have a chart table and just off to the port side, you have the captain’s cabin, which is conveniently located.

And just moving up forward a little further you have the main helm station, which are captain’s chairs. So in the bridge we have a stairway that actually leads down to the galley in the crew area. This is important because it keeps the traffic down from the guest areas.

We’re going to head down and go and take a look at the galley now. So from the stairs on the starboard side we have access to the main foyer and then forward leading down you’ve got access to the crew quarters. And just off to the port side we’ve got the galley. Let’s go and take a look.

As we’re entering into the galley we have nice refrigeration space here and the chef will prepare the meals here. And just after the sink you have a huge walk-in refrigerator and a pantry area for plating up.

Let’s go over a few technical specs on “Namaste.” What’s she powered with? They are MTUs, 16V 2000. So it’s giving her 2,400 horsepower.

She will cruise at 12 knots economically. And one other unique feature is her draft, 1.65 meters, or five-and-a-half feet. So you can really get in close to the beaches.

One very important thing on any yacht is the comfort and stability. Now the yacht has just recently had three Seakeepers zero speed gyros installed, and that dramatically reduces the motion of the yacht.

So on behalf of Denison Yachting, thank you for taking the tour with me on “Namaste.” If you want to learn more about this yacht or set up a private viewing, feel free to contact me.
