Oracle Team USA today announced it has selected Beneteau America as the team’s official hospitality vessel supplier. Beneteau will provide its Swift Trawler 34, 44 and 50 for ORACLE TEAM USA’s hospitality use leading up to and during the 34th America’s Cup.
“It is an honor to support Oracle Team USA in their campaign to bring home another victory in the 34th America’s Cup. This is a unique opportunity for a select few organizations, all leaders committed to the highest level of excellence, to unite behind an iconic racing team, and Beneteau is proud to be among them,” says Beneteau America President Laurent Fabre.
Oracle Team USA CEO Russell Coutts explains, “As a global leader in building performance sailing and motoryachts, Beneteau is a natural fit to provide Oracle Team USA’s sponsors and guests with the best on-the water experience. This year’s racing will be exciting, and with the help of Beneteau, guests will have a front row seat to all of the action.”
Beneteau is known worldwide for its sleek design, quality construction and innovation in the manufacturing of seaworthy sailing and power yachts. The Beneteau story began more than 125 years ago when Benjamin Bénéteau started building fishing trawlers in Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, France. Today, the company continues to thrive under the leadership of Benjamin Bénéteau’s granddaughter, Madame Annette Bénéteau-Roux. Beneteau has grown to twenty manufacturing facilities in France, Italy, Brazil and the United States.
When Oracle Team USA won the 33rd America’s Cup in February 2010, not only did team owner Larry Ellison succeed in his goal of bringing the America’s Cup “home” to the United States, but his team became the Defender of the 34th America’s Cup. Led by CEO Russell Coutts and skipper Jimmy Spithill, Oracle Team USA is comprised of the best international sailing, design, build and support talent to defend the trophy on San Francisco Bay in 2013.
